The other night, I dreamed someone stabbed me next to my belly button. I had to put pressure on it so nothing would fall out and so it would heal and because it hurt real bad. I feel like I cried and hurt pushed down on my stomach and generally felt sorry for myself all night long.

It's not that nothing has been happening. I got into a car accident (wasn't driving, wasn't my car, wasn't hurt), won a $1000 chair, learned more about slush, flower arranging, and playing bass, finished knitting my 2nd hat ever, etc, etc. Just don't feel like posting or talking, etc. etc.

How many times have I stopped at the grocery store on my way home to my Capitol Hill apartment? In fact, I did on New Year's Eve. The very same grocery store as she did. Only I walked 2 blocks west to get home; she walked 2 blocks south.

miracle of miracles
I enjoyed a Christmas miracle. A white christmas. So pretty!
We had a christmas brunch, which I think will become tradition. Yummy breakfast food, coffee, & mimosas throughout the day, pajamas all day long, presents in between guests & eating, new friends (more Brooklyners!), new stuff... Somewhere (elsewhere), it's snowing. Which is a lot prettier and feels a lot more christmasy than grey, pouring rain. But no ice on the roads means that I can drive to the mall for my frustrating last-minute shopping to get something sparkley to wear to my new year's eve party. -

We went to a pretty sweet KEXP yultide benefit concert event this weekend. It made me think of Zane and Matt Shaffer because they love KEXP and would have been jealous. The band I loved most was Feral Children, featuring (among other things) a standing drummer. Also, we were on the list, which made me feel like Common Grounds all over again. ( Read more... ) -
