We recently discovered our infant car seat is expired.  We got it for Jolie because it came with a fantastic jogging stroller.  But she hated the stroller and the only time we ever used it was when we went to Busch Gardens.  Then we were luckily able to keep it through Juliana.  However, Jared wanted to buy the new car seat.  Now I'm way hormonal ( Read more... )

Graco SnugRide 30 is what we ended up getting. We got it because 1) it's what someone bought us at the baby shower 2) it matched our other stuff (diaper bag, pack n play), because my husband fell in love with the pippin.

I have no idea what to tell you about it, because honestly we haven't even taken it out of the box yet :/

We bought the snugride 30 because it fit into my son's single stroller & wasn't too pricey. I bought it at babies r us with a 20% off coupon and my son's leftover $20 gift card from Xmas. I do a lot of babywearing but knew the bucket style carseat would be easier fir the first 3-4 months before we transition to a convertible.

We've gone through two graco snugrides over the past 7 years- first the original and now a snugride 30. Seriously, they're great carseats. They've worked very well for us and I've been very happy with how well they've held up and how long my kids have been able to stay in them. Highly recommend them!

You're having a 4th daughter, too? Cool. I'd not seen anyone else on LJ with 4 girls. I was a little disappointed at first just because I wanted something "new" that a boy would bring. Now, I'm super excited....they'll be so stinkin' cute all together.

And now, I'll go research my own car seat (purchased in 2007) to make sure it's up to par. I'd not even considered the possibility that is' no longer usable.

from what I've read they either expire in 5 or 7 years (unless its a britax which has 10 years). So annoying as mine wasn't even a full year expired (and its manufacturers date not date sold so if you don't see it on the box and it sat on the shelf for a year you are out of luck).

We were so relieved to have the last girl. The pregnancy started out with twins and the doctor was all excited saying "tell your husband odds are really good he'll get at least one boy" and when I showed him the ultrasound without saying anything because I was afraid I'd start crying he was like "the only way to redeem yourself from the two when I said one more baby is if they are both girls". People think we are nuts for not trying for that boy but man everything in my house is pink (even if it has skulls they are glittery) and there is no way we could have a son without him being a full blown crossdresser. My friend always laughs because her sons love to come play dress up and barbies at my house.

I ordered this one from Amazon and had it in 2 days - http://www.amazon.com/Evenflo-Discovery-Infant-Confetti-Aruba/dp/B002VUCB5Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309452964&sr=8-1

We like the ergo handle on this one - experience taught us that very quickly. Also, the more expensive ones just have unnecessary bells and whistles like padding around the head... which you can do with a rolled up towel if you need.
