We recently discovered our infant car seat is expired.  We got it for Jolie because it came with a fantastic jogging stroller.  But she hated the stroller and the only time we ever used it was when we went to Busch Gardens.  Then we were luckily able to keep it through Juliana.  However, Jared wanted to buy the new car seat.  Now I'm way hormonal ( Read more... )

We ended up going with the Graco Quattro Travel System. Good reviews and features we were looking for. Unfortunately, we do not yet have a baby to stuff into it for a test drive, but at least it seems to be good quality.

Good luck!

We got a Graco Snugride as part of the Graco Spree travel system. We've read good reviews about the snugride in general, and my husband threw a fit about anything and everything else. So the inlaws bought it. But we havent gotten to try it other than putting it together. It doesnt look as small as the one my coworker has though (not sure what brand hers is).

We got a Graco Snugride 30 infant seat. We went with that one because the price was reasonable for us, and came highly recommended by a close friend of mine. Also seconding signing up for the free month of Amazon prime, and getting the free two days shipping (just be sure to cancel prime within the month if you don't wish to pay for the service for a year).

*Amazon tip*

You can cancel at ANY time, even after they charge you, and receive a full refund as long as you haven't used the benefits after you were charged.

I'm all about some Amazon. Seriously, they should pay me to promote them.

Lol. I love Amazon as well. I signed up for Prime last year around Christmas time, and just decided to keep it and pay for the service. I ran the numbers, and realized that my husband and I already order a lot off of Amazon anyway, and we've already gone past the breaking even point between paying for the service and saving money on shipping.

We're a huge amazon family, too. I worked in CS for 5 years and my soon-to-be-ex-husband is currently a supervisor in CS. They're an awesome company. I hope to be able to go back there someday, when the baby-raising days are over.

I just got a gift from my amazon registry today. yay!

I'm sorry you had a couple of bad experiences. We got both of our car seats from target (which yes I read that the one near you didn't have any) So this is our infant system (Graco alono travel system) http://www.graco-alano.com/Images/graco_alano_travel_system_amazon.png we choose this one because we didn't have a stroller it comes with a base so if I have to pull the carseat out i don't have to take the whole seat out i can leave the base. And the color pattern works for boy or girl, and we can get the high chair, pack and play, swing, and carseat/stroller all in the same color ( ... )

We have two car seats. One is a Graco given to us by my husband's work (Graco Snugride in Pippin), which we plan on using for the grandparents' vehicles and then a 'travel system', Baby Trend Encore Travel System-Columbia. The travel system seat is installed in my car & feels safe. We haven't had a reason to install the Graco yet.
