I've heard so many times in response to certain things, "Just let go."
How the hell is this done?
I think it's supposed to be much more obvious than this. I just don't find that easy to conceptualize at all. There are so many things that I'd like to just "let go" of, but I really don't know how to do that.
Thoughts?

You're right...but the biggest thing that I'd really just like to let go of I've been helplessly and hopelessly clinging to for waaaay too long. It couldn't hurt though. If nothing else, it will probably bring some clarity to the situation. Thanks. :)

It's the same thing of "get over it." Nothing is easily gotten over or let go of (unless it's something that in the end doesn't mean a lot whether you walk away or not) - you will feel.
That being said, meditation is a very good solution - though you can also use that to visualize yourself with something, I tend to like doves or butterflies - and releasing them from my hands.
As they fly up, I just watch and see - and then usually sleep on it. Feel better in the morning.
Time is the best way to let things go, though, IMHO.
