Woot for cooking my own Thanksgiving!  Ok, so we bought gravy, but we made cornbread, sweet potato casserole, turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, green beans, and "perfect" mashed potatoes.  Mmmmhmmm soo good.  Oh I do love getting fat ;) 

Because midterms are a bitch.  Near breakdown level.  But not quite.  Gah.

Woot to first day of classes.  And my only class was Astrobiology (which personally I think is the coolest word ever...but that's just me).  It's geoscience/astrophysics/bio/chem all mixed into one.  And we go to Yellowstone over Fall break (i love field trips)  It was weird being in a classroom again, with someone lecturing and taking notes.  I ( Read more... )

So the East Coast experience contains many aspects, one of which is the lovely "chirping" of tons o' cicadas.  Looking up cicada on wiki, I found that the "magicicada" species has a life cycle of 17 years - all spent underground except for a few days where they all come out and mate.  The interesting thing is that having the 17 year cycle gives it ( Read more... )

I'm home!  Which means an end to not worrying about just about everything and starting to worry about all that stuff I need to do.  Oh well.  But it also means I get to see all my good friends :)
