speaking of power outages - we went to my dads last night for dinner, and the power went out around 7. it was only our house, and maybe three other houses on the block. by the time we left around 9 it still hadnt come back on! sheesh! we called the power company who reported that "partial outages have been reported throughout champaign-urbana, tolono, rantoul...." odd..

really doesn't make a while lot of sense does it? like what causes one house out of 10 to not have power? or what causes a half dozen split second power losses over a 30 minute period?
the world may never know. though I suppose people who actually do that stuff for a living could probably explain it.
