Latest news is...my dad's not home yet. The newest thing is tonite they said they need to give him blood that perhaps his anuerysm on his inner thigh might still be leaking so his blood is low. The doc said the whole blood should help that also because of all the blood thinners he has been on etc. They also brought oxygen which he has never been on ( Read more... )

Just a quick update. Dad is doing quite a bit better. Not 100% yet with still a few issues but they might send him home today. I'll tell you a week ago I never imagined this would happen. I was there when the doctor came in last nite to speak to him and he said "I can't believe you survived that, that is very unusual". So I guess I wasn't the only ( Read more... )

My dad is still in the hospital. At least they have gotten me some internet access in the hospital. They don't advertise it. I just happened to see someone with her computer the other day and asked her if she was online and she explained to me how to get it.So today I did! Dad is doing a bit better after having several more incidences. Including some medication he was given giving him heart attack symptoms then being allergic to the morphine they gave him to relieve the symptoms that the previous medication gave him!! Got up at 6am to get to the hospital to see my dad before he went in for his catherization which was scheduled at 7:30. So I arrived around 6:45. Everything smooth, he didn't seem to be in much distress and even joked a bit. They took him into OR around 7:20. My sister and went down to the cardiac unit to wait for the completion of his procedure. ( Read more... )

Thank you all for all your kind words, thoughts and prayers. Dad is still in the hospital but we are keeping or fingers crossed that the test they do tomrrow can show a good plan of action and the dye they inject doesn't compromise his kidneys.
