I like the theme = love! idea.

I don't have kids, but when I design my classroom, I think about things that will make me comfortable and the kids comfortable, make me smile and make them smile. It starts with the focus more on me, because I don't know them, but as time goes on, it shifts to be more on them. I feel like you and copilot and Hobo will be the same way. <3

I just read an amazing article about this topic the other day. It's Ok to Be Neither, and it's by a first-grade teacher. :)

See, that's always my approach to the classroom, too. I don't use TOO many colors because I don't want to distract, I want to create a calm, but stimulating environment, but the more I get to know the kids, the more I can adapt/change the classroom to fit them better.

I love that article! I haven't linked it for anyone else, so it wasn't me, but I'm facing that with one of my students right now, so it's really appropos that I read it recently.
