I LOVE coffee. Ever since I was a child, I've loved coffee flavored everything... cakes, ice cream, even coffee-flavored short ribs. The hubs doesn't like coffee at all, but he calls me a coffee snob. I admit, I'm VERY particular about my coffee. Cool entry. Is that the Bodum French Press? I have the same one, but bigger :)

You're right about beans losing a lot of flavor and intensity once ground. It's like it falls off a cliff.

Have you tried roasting your own beans? You can do it yourself which gives you more control over the roast. Also lets you buy the green beans in bulk, store them in the freezer and then have the freshest coffee whenever you'd like.

Just wanted to update you.. you've completely inspired me so I went out and got a Bodum French Press this weekend. Now I need to find a burr grinder. =)

BTW, I used my French press last night and made coffee for my mom and me. It was REALLY good and I'm surprised at how easy it was! Plus it looks nice too. =) Thanks. =)

kel, you've now inspired me to go and get myself a french press as well. like yourself, i am a huge coffee lover, if not an addict...and can't wait to try it out! you know where my next paycheck is going, lol.

cool! I have the Bodum French Press, but haven't used it yet. I've gotta give it a try. Sometimes I also like my coffee w/ condensed milk, like Vietmese style. :)
