[meme] Interview revisited & Confessions?
Answering Kou's questions. If you want questions (again), you can either comment here or go comment there.
1. What started the HerveyxLucas fandom for you?
Well, the initial interest, I believe, did start from suiko_rpg through RPing. However, I do believe the cincher was when I started browsing through Japanese fansites and found Mari-sama (no full name, her site's still up though she removed traces of Suikoden fanarts. I still have to get her ONE Hervey/Lucas doujinshi XO) and Chio Chiba-sama (her site is effectively gone. I'm on the hunt for her doujinshis - any of them).
The former's Hervey and Lucas' relationship started from Hervey's side as he pursued Lucas and got him to give in with his persistance. While I do think that Lucas might've been a tad too uke in her fancomics, it's probably the most IC doujinshi I have found about them. (I did find a Japanese fanfic writer who wrote a pretty convincing Lucas in my opinion... I'm not done translating the fic though. So much kanji.)
The latter... AHAHAHAHA. ...Hervey's a pervert in it, Lucas' an idiot, and their relationship was generally a comedy since Hervey pursued Lucas and Lucas avoided it through stupidity (or cunning since sometimes it seems the stupidity is done on purpose), not to mention Hervey and Ted seemed to have rivalry going on about who'd get Lucas in the end. Her two serious series though had Hervey 'help' Lucas once in the middle of the night in Razril (he was in his room, saw Lucas get assaulted outside the window, Hervey threw a fork or a knife at one of the attackers that almost got Lucas' head, he hid, then asked Lucas to meet him since he got interested by a knight who wasn't a wuss like the rest of them [and...he also spied Lucas smiling with his friends and wanted to see that smile on his own instead of just the stern and serious look Lucas had that night], then had a duel with him over whether or not Lucas would win and make Hervey do whatever he wanted [you don't get to know what Hervey wants as prize though...] since Sigurd came by and told him they were going to leave Razril...) pre-Sui IV while the second story had them somewhere in-game and spending a moment on the beach together (Hervey asks Lucas if he wants to follow him on Kika's ship, but of course, Lucas can't or won't since he's not made to be a pirate and they agree that they'll have to part at the end of their journey together).
In a combination of both of their stuff... I do believe Hervey would be the one to go after Lucas in the game and that they would come to an agreement at some point (prolly more in Rhapsodia than in Sui IV) that they couldn't stay together and would have to say goodbye to each other (and we saw the result of that. I fail as an artist and storyteller. ;_; *has to learn more on visual storytelling*).
2. Aside getting married and such, did you have a goal in mind jobwise after you graduate? if so, what is it?
Goals...I have trouble defining my larger goals in life, but as far as jobs go, I envision myself either taking text-correction jobs in the area (I trust myself better when it comes to correcting stuff than I do writing/translating them) or leaving for France to work on manga translations there. (Do I sense language bias? A bit. I'd jump at the opportunity to work for Del Ray though!) I'm not sure which one I'd want to see happen, really. Do want to go to Japan and teach English or French there for a bit though. If I can't get job here, I'll be trying for something there.
Then there's my sister's constant suggestion that I work for the Japanese Embassy, which wouldn't be such a bad idea if only I was more confident of my Japanese. (I can definitely translate anime/mangas, no problem on that, but the more day-to-day life stuff like business dealings? I'm at loss most of the time. ...maybe that's why I didn't want to go sleep before I got through that stupid chat between Riya and Nemoto-san. That was really what had me stuck at the computer for the extra hour or two I spent working at it.)
I don't know if I'd want to keep on working though. I mean... having a career. I see the importance of it, but I've been trying to convince myself of it all and... I still rather do computer networking things or do something about water quality or marine research stuff.
3. What sort of demonic topics have you and Dei talked about in extremes? (cause I'm sure you two have. I fear for the muses)
Um...Extremes, right? The ones I do remember are...
Atsushi and Riya, in bed, naked, doing things. (Dei keeps on implying that Kousaka'll come and steal Riya in the middle of the night for the original story. T^T As for RO Kyouya and Riya... um... she calls Atsushi a failure in general.)
Hervey and Lucas, in bed, naked, doing things. (Dei's of the opinion that Lucas must be getting really frustrated lately since he hasn't...yah... I'm not sure whether I agree or not since Lucas does have some self-control, but...)
Tyr and Luc, FINALLY in bed, naked, doing things.
On the last pairing, she said something like how Tyr should do his job as seme in the RO story (and how holy men were -made- to be corrupted), though with Ergheiz Tyr, it's the other way around, I think. How Luc should just do something about him. She also keeps on threatening to get Sheena into them games to steal Luc away. D:
There might've been mentions of Saki-san topping Atsushi at some point, but that's something I blame on you both and that one BL drama you two keep on TEASING me with and that I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN MY HANDS ON! T___T
4. Why does Luc have to top McDohl in your book? Explain in detail please
The most difficult question that cropped up from all five... Why does Luc have to be top for McDohl, eh?
I think... it's not so much that it MUST be Luc/McDohl, but it's a lot about how I don't like the way people portray an uke Luc, myself included.
While there are aspects of Luc that make me think he might work better being at the bottom of the food chain, I don't think he belongs there. I mean, Luc doesn't have to top his Tenkai, but ideally, I don't want him to be constantly at the bottom. Or if he ends up bottoming, he'll make it hard on Tyr.
Yet, most (shounen-ai/yaoi) doujinshika put Luc at the bottom (except two. TWO! ARGH!!) without him ever making it to the top or getting close to there (it's the case with Yapoosneo and Thief Hunt, right? I mean, we already know how Coda writes her Luc...). So when I compare it to the seme Lucs, I think I much rather see Tyr at the bottom and being gentler while Luc-sama gets to retain his dignity. Post Sui I-II, it seems much more normal to me that Tyr would be quieter and perhaps a bit more easy to bend to Luc's will. I could also have been exposed to a lot of uke Tyr (well, in 8+ years, I definitely was), so that has a lot to do with my preference for Luc/Tyr.
All in all though, I look at Asona K G's Luc and even Papermoon's (both who's Lucs don't swing that way, I think) and I just sigh in pleasure at how much more in-character they are. Yes, they're prickly bastards, but it doesn't mean they just have a weakness people can easily exploit. They have a backbone and can, will retaliate. (Your Lucs retaliate often enough~ It's already making me squee~ ♥) So perhaps I'm more into Luc/Tyr/Luc than Luc/Tyr... they both have the temperament for it, right? My Tyrs are willing to make concessions to Luc, so if Luc doesn't like the idea of bottoming, well~
5. I remember the elevator, but not most of what happened after or the following year. How did we end up loving each other so much like squish?
It's strange that you remember the elevator because I'm having trouble remembering it. (Do you know how wrong this all sounds? XD) So what year was this?
At any rate, you first called me Serah-cosplayer or something like it while I called you Luc-sama. Things were going along quietly until about when you started talking more and I, in return, tried to get you into yaoi through shounen-ai Luc & Tyr pictures if I'm not wrong (from simply being next to each other to hand-holding and kissing, yah?). And then there was Ergheiz where I applied for Nanami first, Serah next and followed you over to Ares (it's all vague to me by now, but there's no doubt I must've loved you some already if I applied for the RPG despite some reservations about its inhabitants; incidentally, I think that's around when you started calling me neesama).
Things happened with you, I stuck around and got really attached to you. (There was discussing of Luc, his brother in a jar and introduction to more yaoi.) MORE things happened, I got even MORE attached to you. (There STILL was discussing of Luc and introduction to EVEN MORE yaoi. Let's not forget the doujinshis.) Things happened with ME, I think YOU were getting attached to me. (We started talking about a bit more than just Luc... like perhaps Il Gatto Sul G, Hervey/Lucas, seiyuus... Don't forget the doujinshi!) Um...There was a lot of things and attaching and then discussions, plotting, joking around, Suikodening, and RPing. Oh, and there was RO, comm ideas (greenhill_rpg & hero_of_aronia), AN AA staffing, doujinshi planning, an insane amount of cuddling... yeah. I'm summarizing since we did talk of more than just Suikoden and Il Gatto Sul G, but that's about how it went (though I forgot to mention the translating and fangifts).
Do you know my room's littered with things from you? Arts, buttons, postcards and the occasional gift? Not to mention things for you. Oh and some stuff are there -because- of you (like Harry Potter).
...But honestly, the best answer to all of this is to get me to find -every- single AIM logs I have of us chatting. Which shouldn't be too difficult to find (...except it might be with my disorderliness) since they're Trillian!AIM logs for the most part.

If it's summer I have old over-sized t-shirts and old cloth shorts, but during the winter and fall I wear pajama pants and a shirt.

Canada Day? I don't really pay attention to the rest.

Straight for the most part. It turns inward/outward depending on whether I do or don't untangle it after a shower (or if I sleep with my hair still wet).

I don't think I ever tried them together. I can't remember what liver looks like though I think I eat that in my rice porridge/congee sometimes.

Driving practice, RP if that someone who got offline sometime before I arrived home gets back online, shower/sleep for my internship tomorrow (yes, I changed dates again this week).

...They're all songs on my PSP right now and...yes, yes there's a lot from ONE series. ...There'd be more if I could add instrumentals to the list, but neither La Mer, nor Rune of Punishment count as songs.

It depends. I have to eat anything in moderation or I get sick of it really quick.

Money-related issues (jobs, school, spendings).

I have family and friends and I'm happy? Having a boyfriend/girlfriend would be nice so long as I am -still- happy.

Something that I'd enjoy? ...Honestly, I shouldn't be asked that question unless I have a guarantee I could continue RPing, playing games and drawing. So maybe it should be something along those lines?

I think that depends on who you are and if I like you. Especially if I like you.

A time of the day I'm awake and doing things I like? I don't have a most favorite time of the day.

I want to believe I am, but... I generally smile when I'm with people because I'm happy then. Alone or isolated (which I often am)... well, I obviously don't bother smiling because I'm either winding down, concentrating or pondering on my day...
So if we go with my answers... I'm much more serious than I am happy.
