In my infinite dorkitude, I just created a little comparative graph of my NaNo progress. It plots the days on the x-axis and word counts - both daily and cumulative - on the y. So Virginia has repudiated all the Democrat gains of the last 8 years and elected a completely Republican slate.

Lovely.

Hardly anyone voted. In a state of 8 million people, and, what? 3 or 4 million registered voters at least, only a million or so showed up to the polls. Sigh.

I've been trying my hand at making animated gif user icons from XKCD comics. Not very fancy, but I like the result!

This is an animated map showing unemployment rates for the last 5 years. 

HOLY.SHIT.

The most striking thing is that Detroit has been hemorrhaging jobs the entire time.  And October is a horrible month for jobs, period.

This is my 1005th LJ entry.

I've kept this journal since 2002.  That's 7 years.
