First Lord and Lady of Lochac

I'm very fond of the piece of work - despite its many problems. It was my first completed illumination and my first (decidedly flawed) attempt at period style portraiture.

Wow a great likeness. I remember the day very clearly - winning the first coronet list and crowning Eleanor with the victory wreath, and being knighted the next morning. This appears to be the Sunday as I have the white belt and chain on. From our faces and the position of our hands you can see we are both already feeling the weight of our coronation hanging over us. Tough reign! I remember the hand made brown leather shoes being very thin and uncomfortable on the rocky ground, and how pleased I was with the new costume I finished in time for Festival. I gave Elenore the brown belt she is wearing after William gave me the white one. Isn't she breathtaking!

Thank you so much for commenting - and particularly for your memories of all the little details! They have made the image far more vivid.
