Raven, albeit younger than him, finds herself becoming the protective older sister to a small boy who gets bullied due to his difficulty negotiating friendships. Charles can remain withdrawn and timid from years of having people insult him both verbally and mentally, or become the charismatic figure he is in the film, using his telepathy to determine what people want from him then adapting to those wishes. It’s up to the filler, but I think it would be rather unique to see how Charles' natural optimism and belief in people could be cultivated after such a rough childhood. Complete

Cue them eventually meeting at some big function celebrating a mutant legislative victory (or something). They hit it right off and skip out on the celebration/rally in order to play chess and have long discussions. In other words, they fall in love...

Prompt 2: I want an AU where a moderately less crazy than usual Erik meets Charles after he has already been paralyzed, and is still interested. Charles is completely paraplegic, no feeling or function below the injury at all. Which is particularly annoying, since he can hear what everyone is thinking about him. But he deals, because he's cool like that.
Erik has been traveling all over the world being scary and raaar, and he's intrigued that this little physically vulnerable guy isn't afraid of him at all. Love ensues.
