It has been a long, long, long week. What with having my illusions shattered and discovering I'm a complete idiot. Oh and the bad guy isn't AT ALL who I was insisting he was. So glad it's finally over. I think it's time for a glass of wine and a bubble bath.

How is everyone else doing?

Aw why so glum, Goldilocks? At least you don't have to tick off more than a hundred of the brats' names.

You don't have to babysit said brats. We win.

Oh. Sucked in.

I think you mean 'you lose' then.

Neither of you have to prevent them for stealing things. And breaking things. And putting their sticky fingers on things. Or chatting you up while you're trying to ring up their purchases.

Though admittedly, both your jobs sound rather nasty as well. Couldn't we just insist they stay at the castle?

I'm afraid not, Katie. We were informed over a week ago. Our security has been tripled.

Mean. I can't even count on you to kill me when needed, Oli.

Oh I see that I'm just chopped liver now.

If you need help you can just owl me, I know Duncan won't be that much help. Plus as a former Head Boy I know how to instill fear into the little kiddies, mind I know how to do that regardless of ever having been Head Boy.

Private to Katie

I hope you're okay.

You are many things, Cass. But chopped liver doesn't usually come to mind.

It might be helpful to have you standing at the counter and scowling, actually. Possibly with a weapon? Duncan is no help at all. Unless I specifically tell him to do things he just moons about and writes me bloody love poems. Good poetry would be one thing... but these...

Private to Cassius

I'm getting better. Have I thanked you lately?

I've been thinking of... well firing him.

Private to Katie

That's good to hear. I don't think so. But it doesn't matter. You're okay, so that's good enough for me.

Oh, but you can't! I know he's impossible, but the poor thing would never find work anywhere else. You're such a softie sometimes, Katie... I'll tell him off so he stops liking me. Then he'll work again. I promise.

Private to Cassius

Thank you. And I'm sorry. I should have trusted you. I was stubborn and awful.

Aww, it shouldn't be TOO bad. I mean, reasonably, most of the kids would've already gotten the bulk of Quidditch-related presents and such from parents and sundry relatives and friends over hols, and heaven knows that this time of year isn't a huge one for spending. You may get a bit of a break.

So that'd be a no. I shan't kill you. Besides, you'd regret it when you're a ghost and can't play Quidditch any more.

Is everything all right? You seem a bit down. If you need a chat or what have you, let me know.

That almost made my head explode was very logical and helpful, Roger, thank you. I can only hope that you're right.

Nobody is up for euthanasia these days. What is the world coming too. But you make a good point about ghosts not playing Quidditch. That would be rotten.

It really has been a long week. It'd be nice to see you, and chat some actually. Do you have time for a cup of coffee, ever? I know they've got you working extra hard with the kiddies coming to town in a week.

Well, what can I say? We Ravenclaws love our logic.

Yes, it's been a few extra shifts, but no matter. I can't live without coffee. But much to my gratification, I do get the Monday morning after that Hogsmeade weekend off, though, so you're welcome to join me in the Three Broomsticks for a coffee if you'd like.

That sounds very nice, thank you. I've got to open up the shop at nine. Is half eight too horribly early for your morning off?
