This weekend, lots of wonderful things happened.  On Friday night I went to a bar that is in a former mansion, it was absolutely gorgeous (if far too expensive for its own good).  On Saturday I went for lunch in Palermo Viejo with my friend Sara, and not once but twice a band of clowns passed us by and invited us to their show.  (We didn't go.)  ( Read more... )

Eva Perón was a mighty interesting person, I think.  For someone who's so thoroughly hero-worshipped by so many people, you'd think she'd be more... heroic.  And as the female Argentine political icon, you'd think she'd be a better feminist.

The Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente is in full swing; this weekend I went to three movies, and hopefully I'll be seeing more.
( One okay movie, one good movie, and one that was spectacularly awful. )

Tonight, a happy thing happened.  I saw a play.  And not only was it a play and I got to be in a theater again, it was Shakespeare.  I am a very happy camper right now.
