It's kind of funny when I look at the weather before I go out and upon seeing that it is only -16C, I actually find myself thinking "ok, cool, that's pretty warm, I'll only wear 3 layers today". And I am oddly ok with this... gotta love the prairies. -

Anyway, its almost 9am, I have take off in a few and take some recycling to Sarcan as this province does NOT have curbside recycling. Which is a pain in the ass. Basically it means I hardly take out my recycling. It's only me here and I'm not *that* much of a consumer whore so I don't really have a lot of garbage/recycling ( Read more... ) -

So apparently my fish tank is going ok. I have 4 zebra Danios, swimming around happily, as well as 3 plants: one floating and two in pots on the bottom ( Read more... ) -
My fish are happy but weird...
So I got 4 zebra Danios to start off my tank... Apprently they're really good starter fish and they were less than 2$ each because even the pet store doesn't expect them to live long... nuts to you guys mine are happily darting around the tank. So, today I got a small aquarium. Not as small as I wanted, but the pet store only had 1 type of 5gal tank which was 79$ but the light was not included and that cost 40$. The 10gal tank on the other hand was 49$ with the light included and a bunch of other cool fish stuff so... no brainer there! I went with with 10gal. I do not have everything up ( Read more... ) -

So, I got some cool plant this week! I got a pitcher plant and some sundews, which are carnivorous and eat bugs! And I got some epiphytes, aka air plants, and I am really looking forward to this little project. I planted the sundews and pitcher plants in a mix of 50% peat and 50% perilite, with moss on the surface to keep them moist. I didn't know ( Read more... ) -
This is definatly a FML kind of realization...
I hardly know anyone in Saskatoon. I am working up north right now on a job with people I generally don't like much. Honestly though, I'm just as lonely and outcast here as back in the city. The sole difference is that my apartment has a flush toilet and not an outhouse. The only difference between me being here and me being in Saskatoon is a flush ( Read more... ) -

SO last year we had 2 people quit and one retire so we've been really short staffed. The good parts of this is, with the economy sort of still shitty we don't have to lay off anyone, and all the junior staff got raises.
