Well, I was about to write something in my poor neglected journal, but Tim has announced that he would like dessert and would I please get it. To be fair, he is canning pickles at the moment, so I don't mind getting him food.

Well....whaddya know...I just got offered a temp job from that agency I signed up with that may last 5-6 weeks! Sure, the pay is only 7.50 pounds an hour, but it's certainly better than nothing. Which is what I'm getting now. And in dollars, that equals something around $12 or $13 ( Read more... )

Day 2,578,091 of being jobless. Or so it seems. I have been told some convincing reasons why I'm not employed yet, such as that all the other millions of people in my position are wanting jobs this summer (particularly last spring's graduates), anyone who runs a criminal background check on me will come up with no files whatsoever and be suspicious ( Read more... )

I am in England and alive, but in the middle of lots of unpacking and a really slow dial-up connection. I'm working on a post about the wedding and ensuing events off-line that I'll put up here soon.

Oh dear, the Dress has to be let out. It's not that I've gained a whole load of weight since I was measured, but I think maybe a pound or two plus the fact that it's not cut exactly for my shape means that it is now in the hands of a capable seamstress. Can't help feeling like a whale though. Oh, to be secure about appearances...
