Well I'm headed for home on Friday. I've been quite sick for the past 11 days and it has become worse so I've decided to leave. Marianne is leaving next week as well and I feel VERY unsafe by myself here. The only other flight I could book is a month from now so it's all very quick! Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Marianne has gone back to Phnom Penh to get her new passport (with exit visa) which we're hoping to have by tomorrow so we can leave cambodia on tuesday and go back to thailand. we're trying to make the best of everything ( Read more... )

Well, about 10 minutes after I last updated (last night), one of the most horrible things happened. Marianne and I were riding in a tuk-tuk (basically a rickshaw attached to a motorbike) and suddenly 2 men rode by on a motorcycle and snatched Marianne's bag from her. Well we've made it to Cambodia where there are apparently 5million landmines. We found a really neat guesthouse and stayed there last night and will stay for two more nights. Today we toured around the temples of Angkor (up at 4:45am to see the sunset at the temples!) which were pretty neat but it was incredibly hot (39degrees at 4pm!). We went to ( Read more... )

Well we were suppose to go to Cambodia today, but neither of us hear the alarm when it went off at 5am so we spent another day in Bangkok which was amazing (and hot!). We've packed in so much in the last two days and have had a blast. Last night we went for thai massages (1/2 hour cost $2.50!) and had a few drinks at an old vw van-turned-bar. Finally made it here and it's very hot! It was over 30degrees when I got off the plane! It rained a bit this afternoon so that was ok, cooled down a bit. I found my way to Marianne's apartment (in Holland Village). It's very pretty here. I think I'm going to relax tonight because I'm very tired.
