Incredible week ....

Hi - Thanks for commenting on Patrick's graduation. It was a joyous event in a wild week.
When I started posting again, I promised myself I wouldn't retreat into lurkdom when RL got frisky. So I'm sharing a bit. Read on if you want.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and wish you and your brother a safe trip there and back again. *hugs*

Yeah, don't lurk. LJ has pulled me through many bad times with my own 'complicated' family and you should draw on the support whenever you need to. That being said, I'm very sorry about your dad, Mike and Chris.

(Especially Chris. Hey, you could always sell the house and move. It worked for Big Mama!)

Chris was just the weirdest thing ... one minute everything ok, the next - WTF?

Thanks for your encouragement. You've been an inspiration to me in a lot of ways you just couldn't know.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, Kay. No matter how complicated the relationship, that has to be really hard for you and your brother. I'll keep you all in my thoughts. My nephew went through the same exact thing as your nephew- went to college and spent literally 24/7 doing computer gaming. He never went to a single class. He dropped out and joined the military (just got out of boot camp a couple weeks ago) and so far is doing really well.

*hugs*

Apparently this happened to several boy genius types in Chris' class. All the families were baffled. Chris had never lied, never done the rebellion thing, until his senior year. He's working at a gas station, took some classes for a while but then dropped out. His biggest interests remain gaming & anime.

I appreciate what you're saying about Dad. Was telling FrodoBaggins252, one minute I'm ok - the next minute, nerves of mush. We'll make it through & I thank you for your good thoughts for all of us.

I hope your nephew has lots of luck & the military works out for him with no harm coming to him. I'll keep you all in my thoughts, too.
