Day one of finals is over! I was smart - I had the research paper as a final, so I didn't even have to have my kids in class as long as their paper was in. How the heck do you lose a game when it's 1) a tied game 2)bottom of the ninth 3)bases are loaded to make a fored out, 4)2 outs and 5) a full count on the batter, and then you WALK THE BATTER! Thank goodness I made the decision to make today a catch-up day for my students. I have only recently discovered all the merits of a catch-up day. It helps the students, I can get caught up on other things, and it protects me when parents "snap" at me about their child's grade. I will first be going to a Cap Corps retreat with the other volunteers over Easter weekend. Then I'll be in Appleton for a couple days with Mark (and maybe see some Kappa sisters, since you'll be back from spring break then!), then to Chicago with Mark to see my church family!
