Today I met a friend and we went to see the small exhibition
Discover Degas & Miss La La at the National Gallery. I really like these small exhibitions (which are free to everyone) as they closely focus on a painting and give you a lot to think about.
The painting featured in this exhibition is this one Miss La La at the Cirque Fernando (1879),

I didn't know much about the painting either, so this was a really lovely insight into the subject as well as the process of the artist. I'm so glad my friend suggested going! I'm glad you enjoyed my snapshot of the exhibition :)

I haven't seen that, but I would have to pay to watch it over here in the UK. I might have to see if I can find it for free as it would be good to practice my French comprehension!

I know! We initially thought it must have been a replica cannon of some kind, but apparently not as they fired it and it was so heavy! Amazing!

We were astonished that after putting her body through all that she lived to such a great age too! I'd not heard of her either, so it was lovely to find out so much.
