A visit to Hogarth's House and Ham House in London

On Tuesday Mr Cee took the day off and we went on a coach tour to the West side of London. We picked up the coach at a local garden centre at 8.30am which wasn't too early. We've used the tour company before (we visited Bletchley Park, the Cotswolds and last year we went on the paddle steamer 'The Waverley') so we knew that we'd be in good hands ( Read more... )

the correct tree for purpose however it is still a tree. I call that a win.

Happy Anniversary. If you are only 35 how can you be married 42 years?

SO much to look at in the two houses. I remember Ham House as being gigantic. Shades of Downton Abby! LOL
The National Trust does such a fine job preserving it's properties as does English Heritage.

I love the Beer Cellar!

Hogarth's House was very small, but it was interesting hearing about the alterations and the way of life there (and how quiet it was at the time - there's a major road just next to it now!).

Ham House is not that large compared to some of the places we've visited, but it does have a lot to see. It was fascinating and I'm glad we got to see inside the cabinets during our visit. My favourite rooms are always the servant's halls - not a lot to see at this place, but interesting nonetheless.
