When I was a child, I devoured books like they were food. And when I ran out of my own books to read, I'd run through my mother's library. Though now I can recall that she had mostly mysteries and a few romance novels, she had a few of the old hardbound Readers' Digest condensed books. I can relate to this post so much. That sounds like a fascinating book and one that would absolutely capture the mind of an imaginative child :)

I really liked this post. I've heard of that family, but have never read the story you mentioned here. I'll have to look for it, as it seems like something I would enjoy.
