Just a quick note: my car was stolen Friday night, so I'm currently dealing with that (and a whole bunch of other things). That's why I have a huge backlog of personal e-mail and haven't gotten back to anyone in the past few days. Hope everybody's doing well.

It really is possible that it might be recovered.
I have a most bizarre car theft story. My 10-year-old, 150K-mile Honda Accord was stolen back in 2002. It was stolen from the parking lot of a bowling alley that was across the street from the shopping mall that is the car theft capital of Phoenix (and Arizona is the car theft capital of the U.S.) - so it wasn't the best part of town.
After a few days, it hadn't shown up, so I ordered a new car. I had my eyes on a Toyota Camry Solara convertible for a while, so I got that.
Three and a half weeks after the theft, I got a call from an apartment complex about half a mile away from the bowling alley. They asked if the Honda Accord that had been sitting in the same spot in their parking lot for "a couple months" was mine. After confirming the license plate number, I said it was. It had been sitting there, unlocked, in a less-than-desirable part of town all that time, and not a thing was taken from it ( ... )
