I do occasionally wish there were more people around who I shared things in common with. As it is, it's sometimes difficult for me to find a common interest to start a conversation on with these guys. Unless I want to talk about being gay, or about politics (which both get really old fast), I find myself running out of options. Maybe I'm just not being creative enough.

Tell me about it. I can write off the locals (this county is rather excessively rural, baptist and not well educated for the most part) for contact. Some folks call it a stereotype, but in MY county the favorite pasttimes are drinking beer, hunting, bitching about anyone liberal and drinking more beer. The nearest furs are like 2.5 hrs drive each way (Orlando) and WAAAY younger than me for the most part. Only could relate to one I met (due to divergent interests), he was quiet like me...but he moved out of Florida. *shrug*

So, what kind of things interest the lion / cheetah-person?

I feel exactly the same way, but I bet you knew that, heh. I really don't know what to say to a lot of people, particularly when they're already friends with others I know, and already have set interests they tend to talk about. For example, I have no clue about motorcyles and such, so I feel kinda foolish even speaking up
