The steering on my car has been getting worse of late, with the free-play in the steering wheel becoming quite large. To illustrate: when coming out of a left hand bend and going into a right hand bend, the steering wheel can be moved about 1/5 of a turn before it starts to affect the direction of the car/wheels. Ok, so this is a couple of months overdue... talk about procrastination! Following are the headings from my earlier post, where I said I would finish writing about them later. Most are old news now: while they were in contention back then, they've now been resolved to a large degree. Might be interesting, nonetheless...

My Green P's expire on the 11th of Feb, so two days ago I hurredly decided to book a test for my full licence. jennigan has recently become eligible, so today, we attempted our DQT tests together *. We both passed! So now we're on full driver's licences.

So, this means:

• No more P plates to muck about with (not that I bothered much anyway).

Yeah, mine broke. It refuses to turn on for days at a time, and when it does respond, it turns itself off after a random period of time. You know, I only just found out today that "Amex" is short for American Express... I thought it was just a brand of card we didn't have in Australia!

Amex cards weren't working today. Had to call the cc company up for every transaction with them. Lovely.

The roster for christmas just went up, and it turns out i'm working till midnight on the Thursday, and all day(8-6) on the Saturday (christmas eve). I'm also working most of the extended-trading-hour shifts: 6pm - 10pm Mon-Wed. The word around is that those late shifts are actually still pretty busy, even till midnight ( Read more... )
