Ubuntu is analogous to bisexuality, in that it's an often-neglected third option which offers greater possibilities than either of its two more popular counterparts.
If you have a positive relationship with quality x, which is analogous in terms of position withion a discursive framework to quality y, then does it naturally follow that you should have an affinity for quality y even if the set of circumstances/qualities is completely different?
In non-pretentious language, if my apple bears the same relation to my orange as your football does to your rugby ball, does it necessarily follow that I will prefer your football? Mmm. I'm not sure.
As a queer person who some might more or less describe as bi, and who identified as such for a while, I think I see the analogy, but as a nitpicker about language, define "greater." XD
Whisper it, but I have also found that a few people are just a teeny bit loud/smug about falling into a third category they perceive as better. Or so I've been told ;-)
Utterly, utterly OT, sorry, but I wanted to make sure you saw this. I've just had to cancel my workshop on the 27th - filtered explanation up on my LJ. Thank you v much for offering though! Hope to see you on some other occasion.

BTW, I have a WinXP VM running on my Ubuntu machine. This is obviously some kind of kinky roleplay.

I don't think it's quite as bad as Mac users though :)
