On paper our holiday was a disaster.... I'll tell you all the things that made it horrible, but actually we had a relaxing time and enjoyed ourselves a lot. We get along really well as a family, and enjoy the same kind of holiday - a lot of lying around reading, and eating, and swimming if possible, and driving, exploring and walking around old ( Read more... )

Thanks, kind of hard to go wrong there when you can point your phone out the window of a moving car and be aiming at something so gorgeous!

Your daughter is adorable!!! (And you guys are cute too.)

I didn't realise that melanomas can go internal and 'seed', and then lie dormant for years before moving, lodging somewhere and growing. Yeah, this is a relatively new realization for the medical community. At least I wasn't informed about the recurrence rate and dormancy until my derm visit last year. It's a terrible thing and I'm sorry Andrew's mom is dealing with it and I'm sorry for you guys. I hope you get to make it back for Christmas.

Thanks hun. My dad died of a heart attack, and Andrews dad died from cancer. Heart attacks are hard on those left behind who don't feel like they got to have a goodbye, but cancer is just horrible, degrading, and soul sucking. In a horrible way, I hope she goes quickly, for her sake.

And yeah, we thinks Mads is pretty adorable too!

Lovely pics but omg you deserved the gorgeousness, what with all the hassle and trauma. And the melanoma thing is news to me (and since my mum had one some years ago, I can relate, and it sounds pretty scary). I hope Andrew's mum doesn't have too tough a time, and that if it is indeed the beginning of the end, it passes smoothly and without too much pain. So sorry for you guys.

Maddi, btw, is looking cuter than ever. And moustaches!!

Moustaches, and facial hair of any kind really is a bit of an obsession of hers. For ages she wanted to grow her own, and was most disappointed when I told her that on neither side of the family was overly hirsute women, so that her chances were slim. She then decided she would force her future boyfriend/husband to grow at least a moustache! Weirdo! Andrew found her the best cookie cutters for Christmas, they come in 6 different moustache shapes and have cutter one side, and a raised hair print on the other side so you can cut, and stamp the cookies, then cook, try them on, and eat!

And for her sake I hope thinks go quickly, because having watched Andrews dad linger for 3 horrible years with cancer, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!
