Note: I do believe this is the first BSG genfic I have ever written (I specialize in A/R smut). As such girlfriend struggled mightily with it. I hope it lives up somewhat to Mr. Bond's specifications.

It's sooo Laura to face Cain down by forcing her to attempt an act that would throw cold water over those who'd been obeying her blindly because they saw no choice. Well, now they have one.

I actually got the idea from the TOS Star Trek ep The Empath (one of my favorites). And I know I complained mightily, considering how smoothly it came out but it was too much like work for me to enjoy it much. :)

LOL Thanks, Becca. Yeah, I already KNOW that Laura won't be the one to put Cain down, but down she goes. It will be to RDM's credit if I'm not applauding when it happens, however. He's sure to make the entire scenario ambiguous.

I will stop fussing about writing gen if I don't HAVE to write it. LOL Writing this one really hasn't given me a taste for it, although I understand people longing to read it. I like to leave the gen telling to the guys who get paid to do it. *cough*

Oh yeah, I knew I liked Fisk!!! *cheers* And too bad there wasn't an airlock handy to toss Cain out of, but Roslin defused the situation perfectly. She's a bitchin' President!
