Changmin's usually calm and collected. No matter how much the situation calls for him to panic, he stays calm. Also, he doesn't snap so easily. So when Jaejoong steps inside the fast food chain and sees said man shouting at a waitress, he knows that something is definitely wrong.
"Do you even have a brain?!" Changmin rages, fists balled and it somehow looks like his veins are going to pop. Jaejoong frowns, approaching the raging man slowly. He feels bad for the waitress who looks as if she's about to cry. "Did it look like I was done eating? I'm pretty sure you're not stupid to not know the answer to that."
"Shim Changmin!" Jaejoong hisses, pulling Changmin to his side. "You're humiliating her!"
"It's her fault!" he replies, pointing an accusing finger at the waitress who shakes her head. Jaejoong could tell how scared she is. He sighs.
"Calm your shit, Shim. And sit down. We'll talk about this like civilized adults. You too..." Jaejoong says, leaning close to the girl to read her name tag. "...Yoobi." He borrows Yoobi from her co-workers and they all settle down at a table in the secluded area of the chain. Once seated down, he gives Changmin a stern look. "Start talking."
"I ordered food and then sat on a table when I felt the need to pee. So I got up and went to the restroom. When I came back, my food was gone and I saw her throwing it in the trash."
"Only because I...I thought he was done." Yoobi reasons out, voice small and a little shaky.
"Right. Of course I'm done...even when I haven't even touched it yet."
"You just have to be a bitch about it, don't you?"
Changmin might be a bitch sometimes but only to him. Not to anyone else, specially girls. For him to bitch on a lady means that something is really up.
"Changmin you're better than this. What happened?"
After what it seems like an eternity of silence, the man in question speaks up. "I got dumped."
"What."
"You heard what I said."
"No, I mean, yes...but-- how come I don't know you've had your eyes on someone already?"
Changmin sighs, burying his face on his hands. "That's because I didn't tell you. Or anyone. I wanted it to be a surprise." Beside Jaejoong, Yoobi keeps her mouth shut and listens intently to Changmin's story of his broken heart. "I didn't know it was me who'll be surprised."
Never in his years of friendship with Changmin has he seen him this down. Even when he broke up with his very first girlfriend. "You love her." It wasn't a question, but a statement. A statement that they both know is true.
"Too much."
That's odd, Jaejoong thinks. "What are you not telling me?"
"Why are you so sharp?"
"I'm not. I just know you too well."
"We were friends."
"No you're not. You're not just friends."
"With benefits, okay!"
Jaejoong masks his utter surprise with a scoff. "Well would you look at that...Momo is not so lonely after all." He then proceeds to close Yoobi's mouth with a hand. "We don't want flies to fly in there, don't we?"
"I don't get it." Changmin says with a shake of his head-- too distraught to think properly. "I thought she liked me back. She even told me she loves me a couple of times."
"That's the sex talking." Much to their surprise, Yoobi butts in. "What? Don't look at me like that. I read books a lot, alright."
Changmin raises a brow. "Right. After getting me humiliated, I don't know how to face her anymore."
"Why? It's not like you-- oh...oh. Oh no. Oh no don't tell me she works at your company."
"She's a model, actually."
"I said don't tell me!"
"Whatever. And no, I am not going to tell you who it is."
"Why not?"
"I'm embarrassed enough as it is. If you feel bad for me, don't ask me anything anymore. If you really wanna know, ask me again when I'm smashed so I won't even remember I told you anything."
Yoobi reaches out to pat Changmin's hand. "Don't be sad. You deserve someone a bajillion times better. If this helps, I'll get you guys two slices of our bestseller chocolate fudge. It's my personal favorite. Don't worry! It's on me." Without giving the two males time to respond, Yoobi gets up her seat and skips her way to the counter.
Jaejoong, who's watching the girl with a smile, comments. "She's kind of cute, don't you think?"
"Yeah, and she gives away free cakes."
Jaejoong chuckles. "You're supposed to be heartbroken. Not happy over a slice of cake."
"You really don't expect me to wallow in self pity when I have food to comfort me, do you?"
Jaejoong hums, as if in a deep thought. "Well, you're Changmin so nope, I don't think so."
"Yeah yeah, before I forget. you are not allowed to tell anyone. Got it?"
"But why--"
"No buts, Kimjae. You shou--"
"Keep my mouth shut, got it."
"Changmin got dumped."
"What?"
"By his friend...with benefits."
"I'm guessing you're not allowed to tell me that."
Jaejoong laughs sheepishly. "Yeah but it's you so it doesn't count."
Yunho could only shake his head. Three years with Jaejoong and he already couldn't count the secrets he's unwillingly keeping because of his blabbermouth boyfriend. Being a secret keeper comes with being with Jaejoong and he knows, that no matter how burdensome it is, he could keep all the secrets in the world if it means an eternity with Jaejoong.
