Just my usual mad-busy manic summer entry.

Things are happening! I got engaged, earned a raise, won a home made ice cream contest, and leveled up my charachter in D&D. I'm growing chives, cherry tomatoes, garlic, and some sort of spicy pepper on my front porch, as well as some flowers, cacti, and baby birds. I'm listening to lots of new music and reading more books. People who are not as ( Read more... )

Congratulations on all of these things, it seems like you can do no wrong. What new music are you listening to?

Aw thanks, man. Right now, I'm mildly obsessed with Margot & the Nuclear So&Sos, The Wave Pictures, Muscles, and the new Eels album. Most of isn't really new, but it's new to me and it is nice to have stuff to dance around to. What are you listening to lately?

I'd say that the following is the majority of what I've been listening to lately, by album.

Death - For The World To See
Egg Hunt - Me & You
Obits - I Blame You
Kinski - Alpine Static
Astronautalis - Mighty Ocean And Nine Dark Theaters

I've got some private torrent tracker invites to unload if you need one, hit me up with your email address if you're interested.

I was going to make an entry and then the next thing happened and then the next thing and so on. I figured I'd just sneak it all into a one paragraph post and then quickly start posting about nonsense again before I got any more good news.
How about you, anything exciting?
Doing any freelance stationary design work?

I haven't had freelance work in quite some time. I did just finish up a CD case project for a friend and there's a possibility of being part of the publicity committee for this play in town through church contacts...
As for other interestingness, look for an entry next week perhaps.

Aww, thanks! We grew these last year out of a postcard American Spirit cigarettes sent us, which is weird enough by itself. We cut one up to put in some pad thai we made, since we didn't have Thai chilies lying around. They are totally potent like that, too. People kept picking up the oils off the counter or the cooking utensils, even though I thought I washed everything carefully, and yelping in pain. But, oh! They tasted great!

I'm going to grow two cacti someday and one of their names is going to be Harriet Tubman and I'm NOT copying you I've had this plan for like three years now I swear.

Hahaha! One of these, I took from my great grandmother's house and one of these I won in a quiz bowl in 4th grade, but neither one is named Harriet, so I think we both just have good taste in plants.
