How many times can you resize a ring?

A good friend I've made up here is having a birthday next week, I completely forgot about it. I am poor and have no idea what to get for her. She owns a restaurant that makes spectacular cakes so I can't bake her a cake. Same goes for wine and other booze - she has pretty much unlimited access to awesome alcohol whenever she wants it. How did/does anyone think A Million Little Pieces is/was a good book? Leave out the Oprah fiasco for a moment, and think about the book on it's merits (however dubious they may be). Is it well written? Does it ring true (different to actual, factual legitimacy, I'm referring more to an air of authenticity that ALL good books have, fiction or non)? ( Read more... )

How long does this thing look? Is it a top or a dress? Could I wear it just with tights or does it need to be over pants or another skirt, do you reckon?

EDIT: It's totally a top, I can see that now. Sigh. I really want a white/cream smock dress. I can't find one bloody anywhere.

How many balls of wool would it take to knit a reasonably long (say 1.5m) cable knit scarf?

I'm really, really into mustard at the moment. I keep wanting more and more of it and it has to be hotter and hotter. I have a mustard dependency.
