Fresh strawberries!

I just love that your seasons are opposite of ours. We only have our gardening books to comfort us at this time of year. :)

Mmmm . . . strawberries fresh from the garden. In the house I grew up, we had a large strawberry patch in the garden and I used to sit out there for hours just eating the berries straight off the vine while reading a book. Never occurred to me to share! It's been over 20 years, but I still remember the taste - nothing like what you get in the store!

Homegrown produce is so good! Our outdoors is snowy white with nary a growing thing in sight, so I enjoy reading about gardening activities. It makes me yearn for spring!

It sounds like a terrific day to me. anonymous December 29 2007, 19:41:17 UTC
We're in a chilly limbo here: too cold for gardens but not cold enough for snow.

One of my favorite childhood memories was going to a strawberry patch with my family and picking a bushel to take home with us. =)

This afternoon I was ridiculously sleepy. We went upstairs for a short nap and to lie in bed and read. I closed my eyes, and woke up about three hours later! This sounds so wonderful..I love lazy weekend afternoons where you sleep more than just a wink. ;-)
