In some ways, yes, in others, no. We don't get to elect our prime minister. Heck, we have to ELECT the party and the prime minister's whomever THEY elect for party leader. XP
Hey, don't forget that you have to get married and also stay married for a certain length of time for the citizenship to be helped! And citizenship isn't automatic, it cane take years to go through! So don't get too marriage-happy on anyone else! >.>

Canada's first woman prime minister held office for about 2 weeks before the PARTY LEADER election after the FEDERAL ELECTION kicked her out.
