LJ hits a new high in annoying

I've not looked at LJ for a couple of weeks and was going to catch up on you all. However, when I go to the previous 25 messages, it only shows me 3. That's it. My friends page has only 28 messages of history. Not enough to take me back to when I last visited

Odd. My friends page is set for 40 and I see all of those, and the previous 40 as well. May be some incompatibility with your theme?

Worse than odd. Now when I switch back to the "old" format, it still only shows me a limited number. Maximum 25 + 6 today.

ETA: The maximum is apparently 2 weeks, regardless of format. I'm sure it used to be longer.

Ugh. That's terrible. My friends page is working normally, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that this is one of those rolling-out-slowly things. I spend all my time on DW and come to LJ once a day to check on holdouts (like you). ^_~

I have been having problems with LJ too. I don't visit very often. I actually had to click on their names so I could read their posts at one stage.
