Wow, that's scary! I'm glad you caught it before anything bad happened!
Electrical stuff scares me, but at least it sounds like your breaker box was behaving like it was supposed to.

Yikes, that's scary. Glad you got it fixed!

Tangentially, I'm also reminded that I need to add "cleaning the dryer vent hose" to my to-do list.

Glad you got it taken care of, though I was looking forward to having a clothes drying party over here. :)

If you haven't already, maybe let the neighbors know about this? If the same electrician wired all the buildings, they could have the same problem.

We were planning on it!

Since we will no longer be having a clothes drying party, we should have a Rock Band II Party!!!

p.s. Welcome back and congrats on completing the half marathon!

Yikes! Glad you found a good electrician. I'll keep him in mind for us next time we need electrical work done.

I'm so glad you caught it before it got ugly! And I second the recommendation of Jim at Sound Electric. We used him when we were at the house on Corliss. The breaker was terribly outdated and he was the only one I could find who knew how to work with it (I don't remember now what the problem was, I just remember thinking to myself that I need to remember this guy, because he was great).
