Programs Will Continue As Scheduled
I e-mailed my GVI program director to see what's going on with the trip, and got this response: "Guatemala experienced a tropical storm over the weekend. There were mudslides that cause lots of damages to the villages. The projects here are going to continue as scheduled as we work with the community to recover. Update
A tropical storm just swept over Guatemala, causing landslides and mudslides and killing dozens. We'll see what it's like in 3 weeks ...

State of Emergency for 15 days, I get there in 20
The Pacaya volcano, one of the ones around Antigua, erupted a few days ago and has killed 3 people so far. The president declared a state of emergency for 15 days, and I get there in about 20. On the right track
I have to say, I've been rather proud of myself lately. I just kind of woke up one day about a week and half ago and decided to go to the gym, and I've gone 7 out of the last 10 days. Yay for me! So Far So Good
10 days after that last post and I'm still doing well with my resolutions. I'm happy to report that I have yet to stop at McDonald's for an iced coffee and/or cinnamon melts, and I haven't gone to Wendy's for a frosty. Or Noodles & Company for some mushroom stroganoff.
