My Day
I was having such a productive day, too. Costco run, Target run, grocery run, Petco for puppy food, Smelly Store for face stuff, Post Office. All just within budget. Scars
Today I found the five scars on my thigh I thought I'd lost years ago. The middle one is fainter than the others, but it's visible in the right light. I doubt anyone would notice them but me, but it makes me insanely happy that they're still there.

Car Update

So, today the girlchild really, really wanted something of mine to snuggle when her day-quill was wearing off and she was grumpy. So I got her Fred and George. My stuffed ferrets. Girl Child: Mimi! *very distressed* I can't remember how to have sex with my husband!!!
Me: Um, I never have, sorry, can't help you there.
GC: Ohh, maybe like this!
Me: Yes, I'm sure playing with sock-puppets will help you with that.

I wish there was some way to train myself not to react the way I do to people. The way I tense when someone comes into the room, instantly on guard. The way my shoulders go up and my face goes blank, as if preparing to weather some sort of storm ( Read more... ) -
Car redux
So the car, she is dead. Again. Engine dead. Again. Grr. And I was so sure after a whole-engine replacement that we wouldn't need to spend any more large sums on that car for a year or so. Turns out, not so much ( Read more... ) -
MiL conversations
MiL: Why is the fish pump in the shower?
Me: Because I need to wash the anti-freeze out of it.
MiL: Ahh. Okay.
You know, normal people might then follow that up with 'why was there anti-freeze in the fish pump'. -
One of thse Talks....
Tonight was one of THOSE talks with the girlchild. Sometimes I worry I don't spend enough time just talking to her. Not telling her to do things, or asking about her day or what's for dinner.
