( This morning I woke with a strange thought in my head. )

A personal milestone today: I took great pleasure in standing at the scale and moving the heavy bottom weight from the 250 notch to the 200 notch. I have lost exactly 40 pounds since Matt’s bachelor party in May. I am very close to my goal weight of 225 lbs.

Today is the perfect autumn day, crisp and bright. The sky is bleached at the edges with milky, almond -colored pollution but is such an expansive, formless blue; a blue anyone can identify but can never imitate with crude mineral paints. While we were in Atlanta for Christy’s birthday, I had the opportunity to peruse the goods at the Lenox Mall GameStop. I don’t often shop there because the ones in Columbus are run like pawn shops. The one in Lenox is clean and organized, with friendly and supportive staff. I located a copy of Final Fantasy XI with all of the add-ons for the Xbox ( Read more... )

Last night Christy and I did some shopping at Target and ended up settling on Hibachi Express for dinner. The restaurant is in the old Fazoli’s building off of the quiet end of Bradley Park Drive. Good location, even though Fazoli’s fizzled after a few months, leaving a message on the plastic letter sign out front that read, “Thanks, Columbus.” We ( Read more... )

Christy and I saw the trailer for 9 in front of Coraline, and we were intrigued by the dark tone and frightening imagery of living golems battling skeletal mechanized cats in a post-apocalyptic world.
