K, my problem with the current set up is I have 500+ friends, mostly feeds, on a variety of filters. The only way to effectively switch a single friend from one filter to another is to go to their info, friend them again, and then reselect the groups they're in. I have at times put someone on entirely the wrong group, and have removed a few from all my viewing filters by mistake. If I create a new filter, moving people onto it is a massive pain.

In addition, figuring out which friends are on a specific filter is very difficult, as is remembering which you want to add to one, or indeed, when using the edit friends groups page, which are feeds, communities or people.

Essentially, I'd like a page similar to the Edit friends page, with a table column per filter group (this would for most be small, but for me it would horizontal scroll a lot, that's fine), so I can see both what filters a friend is on, and also what friends are in a filter, and simply check/uncheck to move people around ( ... )

have you seen the edit friends/groups interface over at ScrapBook?

i'd like to see that moved over to LJ.

Hmm, no, I hadn't. Took a bit of digging, but even at a basic level that's much better.

If it had a list of who isn't in it as well, I'd be a happy bunny. For example, I just looked at my mobile view list, a group I frequently forget to add people to, even though I do use it regularly, and while it lists everyone there, it doesn't list who isn't there, which is equally important.

But yes, even at a basic level, that's better. Same as the scrapbook tagging entry field is better, etc.
