あけましておめでとうごあいます。
Welcome to 2022, everyone. May this year be at least slightly better than the last.We didn't do anything special to celebrate new years. We relaxed in a warm scented bath, made Temaki-sushi and Miso soup for dinner, and then Ryu watched TV while I took a nap. He woke me up at 5 minutes till midnight to do the countdown together and

The snow there looks nice! It started snowing here tonight when I had to drive home from work. Not fun. Snow is nice to look at, but not drive in lol

Oh, I'm the same. Looking at it from the inside of a warm room is perfectly fine. The minute one has to step outside though...it's not so fun. Luckily, the snow is gone now. Driving won't be as bad.

Yes! They had planned on coming in 2020, but COVID hit. Hopefully we can make it happen this year. Japan is still closed.

The HOSPITAL can SAY no MANICURES?!?! 😮😮😮 Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat my American brain is simply uncomprehending. 🤯
Your wishes are good and I wish for them for you too.
I’m glad you’ve been able to earn money even while pregnant - every little bit helps!
Oh and obv you don’t have to get into details but what about the blood work? Is it related to your other condition, or other deficiencies? I definitely wish you ease for birth, and the epidural stuff is really strange.

We find out the results today. I don't really know much myself because save for feeling over-exhausted, I've felt fine. But apparently everything was about 5-10 points below the designated female level. My lab work before then was fine, though a bit on the low-side, but not as bad as this.

I’m also mind blown on the hospital saying you can’t have manicures.
Also, they schedule your birth there? So do they automatically induce everyone? You don’t just naturally go into labor and then get to the hospital? And crazy they only do epidurals certain days

Yes, and no. If you are doing a C-section or epidural, you'll be scheduled and induced because there aren't enough anesthesiologists for hospitals to simply have them on hand. It might be easier to get a hold of one in the bigger cities, but the concept of "painless birth" with epidurals and such is still fairly new.
If you're doing a completely natural birth -- no drugs, no surgery, epidurals, you just naturally go in to labor.
