Yeah, that quake sounded aweful. Probably the worst since 2011... :(

I miss the seeing the cherry blossoms. The last time I got to see them was in 2014. This was ages ago and it truly feels like ages ago. *sigh*

What did the taxi driver do that made you hate him so much?

To keep a long story short, since I'm replying via mobile, it was racism triggered by a glitch in the mobile app I used to reserve the taxi. He had to wait two minutes for me to find him - unacceptable, apparently. He ranted and ranted for ten minutes straight and wouldn't let me out early when I asked, then had an issue with Reo crying.

I hope your permanent residence comes through sooner rather than later. I'm going through the same thing and am also hoping for the best.

I haven't started the permanent residence process yet but I'll probably procrastinate. It's such a long process.
Hopefully having a kid and husband and steady work for 8 years helps.
