I was under the impression that we'd be picking mom up from Charleston on Sunday, but when I got back home from work tonight I found out it'll be tomorrow. When I am scheduled to work five hours. A bundle of exposition
Our water got fixed. After the pump problem, we needed to clear out all the filters in the fixtures because they collected an obscene amount of sand and grit, and it was cutting off the water completely. Everything's fine now, with the possible exception of the icemaker and water dispenser in the fridge. I'll have to find out how to get at those ( Read more... ) -

I got no time for livin'. Yes I'm workin' all the time
Worked 48 hours last week, 58 this week, and it'll probably be 60 hours next week. The pay is pretty sweet, but I'm having a tough time adjusting to the hours. I need to wake up at 4 am, drive half an hour to get there at 5, and weekdays are 10 hour shifts with 5-10 hours on Saturdays. Waiting
...to hear back about the soldering job.
Meanwhile the 2GB in our computer was cut down to 1 by a fault stick of RAM, so I took advantage of low low prices on DDR2 and ordered 4GB. After an unprecedented waiting period (curse you, DHL!) it finally got here and is now sitting happily in the computer, caching programs and data like nobody's business ( Read more... ) -
Soldering on
I've got a soldering test lined up with a manufacturer tomorrow that could see me gainfully employed in short order. It's lined up as a temporary position with the possibility of full-time after three months. It's not the IT techie job I was hoping for, but it does line up with my previous experience and I'm pretty confident about landing it. I ( Read more... ) -
