After the conference this weekend I'll be diving back into my wip and I'm really looking forward to it! After talking about it with my editor I realized I'm trying too hard to add "depth" that doesn't need to be added. I liked teachers before but after last night, I LOVE them! Especially for coming out during a thunderstorm... I was one of the authors at our B&N Educator's Night and it was a blast! I've been playing some wicked good pool lately! My husband and I play in a 9-Ball Scotch Doubles league. Last week I made an amazing side pocket bank shot and we ran out our first game. Got my hair cut yesterday just like Katie Holmes. My hairstylist actually used a picture of Katie with her new 'do as a guide. Things I've noticed since I got my hair cut:

1. It takes a lot less time to dry it with the blow-dryer.
2. I keep trying to push my hair off my shoulders (long time habit) bit it doesn't reach my shoulders anymore.

I've been playing phone tag with my editor all day. Never did get to talk to her! I'll try again in the morning. When I was a kid I loved tag -- any version. Freeze Tag. TV Tag. Plain old tag. We made up new versions and rules every night and played long after it got dark. Somehow phone tag lacks the same appeal...

Those are the 3 things I most hate to shop for. I know, girls are supposed to LOVE shopping for shoes but really, give me a pair of tennis shoes (Reebok Princess) for summer and hiking boots for winter and I'm set. I finally seem to be over my summer writing doldrums! I have 2 1/2 chapters of my wip and I know how to finish Chapter 3. Feels good. VERY good to be back on track. We spent Saturday in Galena, IL -- one of my favorite day trips. It felt GREAT to get away, even if it was just for a day. I feel like I shook the cobwebs out of my head and can concentrate on my writing again. Maybe I need to take more day trips in the near future...
