I have just realised something quite strange: I'm not used to the Doctor having arms. Or at least, not to him showing them.

The good thing about doing my Physics coursework on Lissajous figures (and at one point, it did seem like the only good thing) is that it's hard to get stressed when you're watching complex knot-shapes revolving on an oscilloscope. It's very soothing.

The National Heritage Memorial Fund has stepped into the breach and donated the remaining £200 000 needed to secure Turing's papers for Bletchley Park. To which I say: FUCK YEAH THE NATIONAL HERITAGE MEMORIAL FUND! THIS IS SO AWESOME!

Something that amuses me: I've read 20 books this year, but in terms of pages, Cryptonomicon accounts for about 17%. I like Goodread's various widgets - yet another aid to procrastination! But now I'm actually going to go and revise for my French mock. I loathe discursive essays - give me the historical or the literature one any day. -

I am now markedly less terrified about the Warwick interview than I was, having discovered that they only interview about 60 out of 800 applicants. I have honestly no idea how I've ended up this far along, but I'm definitely not complaining.
