Upon meeting with my advisor yesterday, I learned that if I do not have a minor, I will be able to graduate this Spring. With a minor, I can finish in the Summer semester. I can see the greed in their weasel-lawyer eyes. They await the Winchester boom with foaming mouths and sweaty hands. Soon, yes, soon! My lovely little town will explode into a cheap construction nightmare. McMansions and shitty shopping centers will abound and they will be happy because it will mean more cold cash in their pockets. One week and a few odd days until Wil and I go on our much-needed vacation. We'll scoot over to Nashville to get a free stay at my abuela's house, then down on to Austin to visit Cousin Danny and see the delights that that green city has to offer. Mini-vacationing in D.C. brought tears (seeing my first Frida painting in person) & laughter (dinner w/ Nicole & Ryan, my former Women's Studies TA & her husband). Wil & I stayed in the Tabard Inn. There was an amazing exhibition at the National Museum of Women in the Arts and a pair of awesome $30 shoes for Wil at Urban Outfitters. Oh, and how ( Read more... )

I am busybusy this summer. Three jobs (DGWW, Handworks, SSMT) and volunteering at the Shelter for Abused Women.
