I am trying to figure out DW. It seems like I should know this, and yet, I am not sure if I am "friends" with people. Do I subscribe to them? Am I in a circle and who's am I in? Can it be a square or possibly a triangle? How do I find people on here? Am I alone, in the dark, talking to myself? Is anyone out there? I am pressing my face to the glass

Subscribe to theirs, and add to get them in yours.

It's just enough like lj to be familiar, with just enough differences to make you do a double take. But at least it's better than IJ, with that damn "insane asylum" and twink grinning face everywhere.

I feel like an old codger these days. I don't like facebook and twitter and all the rest. But lj screwed up my posting access during one of their ~improvements last year, and they won't fix it. So I'm using dw and making do.

Am I subscribed to you over at DW? I can't figure out how to find you. I tried doing a search, but they don't allow people name searches... that I understand how to do, anyway. It's like I fell through the looking glass, everything is so familiar, and not at all the same. Freaky!

You put the name or topic you want to look for in the search box, and change the dropbox to "site and account", and so far that's worked for me. Problem is DW is still slow compared to the glory days of LJ.

Btw, feel free to go through my profile page and add things from there. Lots of comms are either mirrors from lj in case our Russian Overlords finally piss off enough people to move en masse, or are inactive; but there's some good ones. Maybe some people you'll recognize. :)
