Having a very down day today. I hate when childhood issues rear their head. We have a girl that started in my department this past Monday. She was invited to go with a bunch of people form my department to a concert. My best friend was invited to go to the same concert by our mutual friend. I was not invited by anyone. Another blah day at work. But I'm seriously over talking about the weather. Guess what, it's snows in Pittsburgh EVERY winter. I don't see how this is an exciting topic to dwell on. It's not even like it's a blizzard. We've had what, three inches? Find a new topic, people! And not traffic!!! -
Yum!
Tonight I made Stromboli for the first time. If I had known how easy it was I'd have been making them regularly for years!! I was able to throw one together and feed the kids in the 40 minutes between getting home from work and taking Aeryn to her dance class. Bonus, all the kids liked it. This will definitely become a regular dinner around here :) -
New furniture
Ed and I finally ordered new living room furniture today. Ever since Ed finished remodeling the living room (one/two years ago??) I've wanted new furniture since what we currently have is old and crappy and doesn't look nice in this awesome new room. We have been randomly browsing in furniture stores but nothing really struck our fancy until ( Read more... ) -

Day three of a clean living room, dining room, no dishes in the sink, plus dinner on the table by 6 pm. Ed's enjoying it while it lasts.... because it won't. Cleanliness seems to last only fleetingly since I'm the only one who actually does any real cleaning around here and I get fed up easily. -

The kids have been happily playing in the kitchen together for 20 minutes!! They usually don't last this long without my name being shouted to help resolve something. Ah. I'm enjoying it while it lasts : D -
Breaking the news
So we told the kids about Phantom just now. They took it as well as can be expected. There were tears and hugs from everyone. Ed was the one who broke it to them after we put Aeryn to bed. Celest's glasses
So we dropped Celest and Thomas off at camp on Sunday around 4. By 3:30 the next day Celest's glasses were at the bottom of the lake. I guess she was canoeing and fell in. Ed was the one who got the call and in typical guy fashion didn't ask any questions. Is she ok? Was she wearing a life vest? How did she fall out? Her fault or someone else's? ( Read more... ) -
Not much to report
I know I should post here more often, but the story of my life is seriously boring. Work, clean, eat, repeat. Same reason I never post updates on Facebook. Like today, I did laundry while Ed did yard work. Then we took the kids to the pool. Woopee. My life would make the most boring movie ever. Tour de Pittsburgh
Bought the kids bikes this weekend! They haven't had bikes in forever because there is no place to ride near our house. The street we live on is a busy secondary road that everyone speeds down (a car flipped over and landed in my nieghbors driway last year!). Plus there are so few flat areas to ride on it would be a major undertaking to load up ( Read more... )
