Taemin and Minho’s parents were best friends, so they grew up together. Becoming best friends was inevitable, but it wasn’t like they’d ever done much to fight it.
It wasn’t until Minho was thirteen that he realized his feelings ran much deeper than they should; he shouldn’t want to kiss Taemin, should he? They were best friends!
Rather than ruin a perfectly good relationship, Minho kept his silence, and if sometimes it was awkward and unpleasant for him, that was alright, because it was preferable to losing Taemin.
He was nineteen when he realized his plan wouldn’t work. That year, Taemin met Kim Jonghyun, a bright and charming college student. There was something off about Jonghyun, but Minho never said anything to Taemin because he was afraid that Taemin would choose Jonghyun over him.
Only weeks into their new relationship, Jonghyun left him for another college student. Minho was left to piece together the broken fragments of Taemin’s heart. Foolishly, he had confessed his love then, and Taemin, on the rebound, had clung onto the affection and kissed Minho.
