I was all set to keep Xander company in the closet last night until the storm came through at 1am and scared the bejeezus out of Baby Mae (the dog) and I had to go sleep in the bed with her. I swear these animals are worse than kids! (Yes. I am fully aware I am the one that spoiled them!) grin

Did you know the sun isn't even up at 6am this time of year? But I was!!!

I went in to check on him at 630am and he woke up and meowed. YAY!
Then as I was petting him, he purred. Double YAY!!

Xander is home.

He is wobbly and keeps trying to walk around. He tends to stumble and his head plops into the tub and door jambs, LOL.... But he is moving too slow to cause any damage. It's pitiful yet funny to watch.

If he doesn't eat in 2 days, the Doc said I have to take him back in.

Xander is out of surgery. And I got to go in and see him. 3 sheets to the wind, but he is alive and 'healthy'!

They were able to retrieve the entire string, which was in the bottom of his stomach and stretched all the way to his colon where it had started to coil and cause blockage.

My cat ate over 2 feet of string yesterday.

Too him to emergency vet this morning and called a family member vet in Lago Vista and both agree that without surgery, his survival is not likely. Already spent 184.00 today on exam, pain killer, antibiotic, laxative, and anti-nausea meds.
